7 Steps to Happiness and Fulfillment for Stressed Mothers“Motherhood has relaxed me in many ways. You learn to deal with crisis. I’ve become a juggler, I suppose. It’s all a big circus, and nobody who knows me believes I can manage, but sometimes I do.” ~ Jane Seymour
Most mothers feel stretched beyond their human capacities. There are effective tools you can use to change how you are coping and, in fact, really feel your contribution to life. You are not fully giving to your children if you’re utterly exhausted. You won’t help humanity if you feel you are drowning. But when you are living fulfillment you living your better life, adding to your family’s essential wellbeing and the world.
As a mother I have juggled parenting, working, studying, writing, house-work, being there for a spouse, family and friends all at once, held the fort through divorce – well not literally because I lost the home with it – and navigated life as a single mom, and fulfilled. But more importantly, I have worked alongside women sometimes living in utter devastation in numerous countries and cultures for more than a decade to recognize wisdoms some choose to live by. You can give to your family and the world in beautiful ways. The key is You!
7 Steps to Happiness and Fulfillment for Stressed Mothers:

1. Write your intention to live a life of fulfillment.

You are taking a thought and putting it out into the world. This is a powerful act because once you state your intention you have told the universe what you need. Energy follows intention. Your best future starts with the energy of intention that aligns behind where you want to go. Every single morning read your intention out loud.

2. Pray or meditate.

Connection creates that space for powerful energy to work through you, sustain you, support you, nurture you and guide you. You can tap into this wondrous energy and guidance through prayer and 15 minutes a day of meditation. Be open to any hunches, feelings, or sensations and just be. Ask for help and the angels will support you immediately.

2.  Let’s agree you cannot do it all.

Yes, you will have to drop some things you are probably holding dear to you. If you still feel this one is impossible, well, I will just let you know that from my own experience and the experiences of wiser women I have worked with something is going to go anyway. You want to be the one to choose what is going to drop from your life. Lay out on paper what you are juggling in order of what is most important to least important. Cross out the last one to three items and be firm about crossing it from your life, at least for now.

4. Find the community support you need.

Busy mothers usually skip this one and become ultra stressed. Make time to be with like-minded women and loved ones regularly who encourage and support your goal to live in greater bewilderment, peace, freedom and giving. You cannot go this goal alone, so, connect with those friends or look up clubs, organizations, even online, that support personal growth.

5. Contemplate on what a fulfilled life means to you.

Scribble these into a list. Go over your ideas of success and what will be important to you at the age of 85. Identify which ideas of fulfillment and success belongs to others – spouse, parents, co-workers, media or friends. Identify which feel more fulfilling to you. Circle these and revisit them during a time you allot to yourself for much deeper and longer contemplation. At that time, rearrange your list of priorities with your greater clarity.

6. What has brought you great pain?

Write these down. Reflect on how you and successful women have gotten through them. There is meaning in those experiences of great pain. Allow your heart to open to the higher wisdoms of those experiences and contemplate how you can bring those wisdoms to others.

7. What brings you joy?

Write all these in a list. In childhood what things brought you feelings of excitement, joy and sense of freedom? What makes you feel feminine now? Include at least two of these items every single day and ask your chosen community of supportive friends to hold you accountable to living these each day.
In time I hope you will find that you have created the right energies in your life, your tribe of support and activities that support creating healthy habits and therefore new possibilities. When you follow these steps, you become a full cup of energy, love and consciousness, giving to your children with greater energy and love and giving to the world with your unique beauty and real impact.
